    Peace

How can i say this shahada im not a God confused

no afridi ,im sorry to inform you, but you are not god, but this verse is proof for today that shahda is only for god, when god himself did shahada and not included anyone else in it, is proof for all sunna and shia that shahada belongs to god alone, otherwise god would have added others if it were to be. but as we see in chapter 631 god speaks of the monafiqeen as coming and doing shahada to mohamad as well, there are 2 reasons for this ayat, one is to prove that ANYONE who does shahada for mohamad or other is a monafiq, even today it is done, but out of ignorance, as i used to....and the second reason is to show that god does not approve of shahada to other then him as he says hes knows that mohamad is his messenger and then goes to do shahada or witness that they are the monafiqeen which again shows that if god wanted to do shahada for other then himself it would not be hard

      Peace Afridi220,

How can i say this shahada im not a God confused

Why would you have to be GOD (Allah) in order to declare this shahaada? It is for everyone to bear witness to, and this is evident by the verse saying

...wa'al maala'ikatu wa ulul ilmi... (and the angels and those who possess knowledge)

These are the ones who bear witness/testify that there is only one god, Allah. It's not only GOD who says this; it's all the submitters.

      Peace,

      Ahmad

Asalaamu Alaikum brothers and sisters.. I prefer to go with Qur'an only thoughts when available, so would you mind giving me your thoughts on the Shahada?

            Peace all
Brother, if you are going to accept the Quran as a divine message, then you have to Believe and Testify that the ONE WHO WROTE AND DELIVER IT is a true Prophet and Messenger of God. If you understand that the Prophet did not deliver other message beside the Quran, then you are not committing Shrik.
Good Luck and May God Bless.

one can accept the quran as a devine messege WTHOUT having to testify, shahada has nothing to do with mohamad its about beleiving in a being that we cannot see that is the purpose of shahada,
as gods law we are not allowed as humans to do shahada in court on something we did not see, but the fact that we cannot see god and we do shahada that is our proof to god our faith in him.
i do beleive mohamad was seen by many no need to do shahada on him

                    Peace all

This is my own humble understanding

-La illaha ill allah (No God but Allah) is always mentiond alone in the Quran , never assossiated with any prophet name.

-If what is meant by the Shehada is what one say when he become a submitter, God told us that he had given an example for everything we need.
3058 And We have put forth for the people in this Qur?an of every example.

I think it will be in these verses

2131 When his Lord said to him ?Submit,? he said ?I submit to the Lord of the worlds.?

2744 It was said to her ?Enter the palace.? So when she saw it she thought there was a pool, and she uncovered her legs. He said ?It is a palace paved with crystal.? She said ?My Lord, I have wronged myself; and I submit with Solomon to God, the Lord of the worlds.?

                    peace

                      Salaam Belalhammad,

Do you testify that Mohamed was a Prophet and Messenger of God?

According to the Quraan, we are discouraged from testifying/bearing witness about the prophets; this testimony is for Allah alone. That's why, in all the verses speaking about ones testifying to the prophets' messengership, the Quran repeatedly states that Allah is enough of a witness. The only verse speaking of an actual testimony given to Mohammed was rejected by GOD, and He called them hypocrites.

                      Peace,

                      Ahmad

i dont testify to anyone but god i witness that god is one
and as far as mohamad he was a messenger and his messege sent and recieved that was his job, whats the point of me testifying but not following the messege he brought from god as millions of muslims do today

no im not testifying im telling you he is a messenger, but i would never say it in a shahada, just as god knows hes his messenger but he never did shahada tha mohamad is his messenger.
but now im confused again, i thought quran alone people knew they shouldnt do shahada for mohamad, so not only do you not trust in god alone when coming to reading quran to teach you, you rely on translations and interpertations from other humans, but now you do shahada for mohamad as well. well in submission that in itself is shirk.... i dont know la ilaha ila allah......allah yihdi ljami3

Here are my views in regard shahada

                                Salam
                                There are the Verses

                                (&#1638
How shall Allah guide those who reject Faith after they accepted it and bore witness that the Messenger was true and that clear signs had come unto them? But Allah guides not a people unjust. (86-3) Of such the reward is that on them (rests) the curse of Allah, of His angels, and of all mankind. (87)

                                (&#1633
When the Hypocrites come to thee, they say "We bear witness that thou art indeed the Messenger of Allah." Yea, Allah knoweth that thou art indeed His Messenger, and Allah beareth witness that the Hypocrites are indeed liars. (63-1)

In these two verses, we can note that the Shahada was required from the people who came to the prophet to accept Islam. Moreover, one can ask what is the different between Jews & Christian? The answer is, the Jews do not testify that Jesus is the Prophet of God, and therefore, they rejected the Bible. And the same goes when asking what is the different between Jews, Christian, and Moslem (True Moslem)? The answer is the Testifying ?The Shahada?.

                                God Bless

                                Dear Tay
As we all know, every thing we do is Halal for us except what God excluded in the Quran; thus, testifying that the Prophet Mohamed (PBUH) is the prophet of God, as well as Jesus, Moses, Ibrhim... are the Prophets of God is not Haram, ?prohibited?, or something new that was invented in the religion.
My point is, if you and the group hold the same views regarding rejecting the Shahada, there will be very minimum chance to gather audiences from the Moslem World--they will reject you.
Shahada only for the new comers who did not accept the Quran before as the words of God, and for them to accept it, they have to accept the person whom was revealed to as the prophet of God.
I know that most of us suffered from many of the traditional Islamic teachings, but we cannot let our disliking make us reject every thing, including the right teachings.
                                May God Bless

first of all im not looking for an audience, i am simply stating what i beleive, and if people want to do or say only to get an audience, well we know what god says of that, it is very clear in the quran that the majority is always in the wrong, as for chapter 631 http//free-minds.org/forum/index.php?topic=9597475.msg186326#msg186326
but i do not see a chapter for the other aya even though i have a pretty good idea what it is saying or implying but to be on the safe side if you can get me the chapter number it would be helpful

                                    Chapter three;
please note that any one who is accepting the Quran as a divine Message, he or she will have to testify that the person who Wrote that book for them is a Messenger of God; otherwise, why they are following the Book.

If I were to be a new Moslem, who had no religion, first I will have to testify that there is no God But Allah (The One); second, in order for me to accept the Quran to be the words of Allah, I have to accept the person who wrote it as a True Prophet of God.
But if I were a Jew or a Christian, I had testified before that there is no God but the One (Alloha or YHOW); So, what will make me a Moslem is to accept the Quran and the Person who wrote it.

If I were to be a new Moslem, who had no religion, first I will have to testify that there is no God But Allah (The One); second, in order for me to accept the Quran to be the words of Allah, I have to accept the person who wrote it as a True Prophet of God.
But if I were a Jew or a Christian, I had testified before that there is no God but the One (Alloha or YHOW); So, what will make me a Moslem is to accept the Quran and the Person who wrote it.

is that a condition that one must testify, well i am a muslim and i dont testify, but i know he is a messenger and the very fact that i read quran proves that i beleive he was a messenger and that the quran is the word of god.
god is talking about the kafireen, which everything is nullified when it comes to them, that in itself proves that even if they did shahada it doesnt mean anything just like the monafiqeen, and that is also in there time, they didnt do shahada that he is a rasool they did it as he is true to what he says, but then again it really doesnt matter waht they say they are kufar.... god did shahda to himself, if it was abligatory do you not think that god would have added mohamad to the shahada in the quran in 318
even if you read the ayat after 386 it shows that these very people will enter hell or be punished

3 86 How can God guide a people who have rejected after believing, and they witnessed that the messenger is true, and the clarity had come to them? God does not guide the wicked people.

631 When the hypocrites come to you they say ?We bear witness that you are the messenger of God.? And God knows that you are His messenger, and God bears witness that the hypocrites are liars.

According to the previous verses my understanding is that we should testify sincerly that Mohamed is the messneger of God. The hypocrites testified but they were not sincere, they were lying.
But still i dont put this testmony in conjuction with la illah ila allah, cos la illah illa allah is always mentioned alone in the quraan

If I were to be a new Moslem, who had no religion, first I will have to testify that there is no God But Allah

And what about saying I submitt to the Lord of the world " " according to the stories of Ibrahim and the queen of chiba?

                                          Peace BelH,

Do you testify that the Person who wrote the Quran for Us is a Messenger of God?
Yes or No answer please, so we can move on.

No. I ACKNOWLEDGE that Mohammed is a messenger of GOD, but I don't testify about other than Allah. GOD is enough of a witness for the messengership of the prophets.

                                          Peace,

                                          Ahmad
