    Where is this "preceding" pronoun?
He is referred to in verse 1 as "abdihi, aka subject of God".
The only pronoun in verse 1 refers to God Himself.

That "abd" was shown something and here is pronoun for him

So you know that the second pronoun refers to "abd"?
      What's the problem then?
When I said the only pronoun, I meant a pronoun that does no refer to a specific person as I understood from your post.

        Salam,

I have put together a chronology of events from the Quran regarding the Children of Israel to establish both time-line and location of events.

Mazhar, nowadays anyone can claim to be a scholar after parrotting a couple of ayats from the Quran...

Do you claim to be a scholar Mazhar?

and who authorises you to tell me to shut up?

what you are doing is just pelting your frustration at people who say that which you do not agree with... and shower ad hominem on them...

in that context, you are far from earning respect or worth listening to...

              Peace,

Since this is all about Yemeni history, perhaps explain this and who was in charge back then?

I know that people who do not have substance in their minds eventually have a very loud mouth.

If you think that pazuzu has put some material worth consideration and that you have become enlightened and a scholar, okay, you pin down what has he said and his conclusions reached. Otherwise keep your mouth shut.

I am aware of your article and I am sorry to say it did not convice me as much as Pazuzu did, even if he did put his findings "haphazardly". OMHO

There is a name for Mazhar on the world wide web blogosphere...

people like him are called trolls...

one should refrain from feeding them as they become bigger, more audacious and vicious in their comments...

hence, I should ignore him, and save myself losing my intelligence responding to his provocative inane ramblings...

a pity he quotes verses from the Quran in vanity and ignorance...

may Allah guide him to better manners and knowledge...

and my last prayers are all praise to Allah Master of the Worlds...

Thereby, you agree that this pronoun does not relate to Musa alahissalam.

                            What?
It relates to the subject of Allah whom He made to walk at night.
The mention of Musa immediately afterwords shows he was meant by the term "Abd", unless you think that there's a "Abd" of Allah whom He made to walk at night and whom we know nothing about. In this case he is not Muhammad either..

But in that case first we have to locate Musa alahissalam in Masjid al Haram.

Find your feet and stand with Ibrahim in salat.

You can stand in salat with Ibrahim even though he is dead. How?

Stand in salat in Al-Masjid Al-Haram!

                                      Good Day...

Since the Pharoah thread has become a circus, I have decided to get a very important point across concerning the matter of Abraham and the Bayt. And this thread is the appropriate place to post it, because it is directly connected to the location of Muhamad (P).

On the circus thread, member Nabster wrote the following

Well it is meaningful to me, a foundation is an underlying structure and a skeleton for a building, there is no other way around it, it had to be there, as the foundations were there, it is self evident from the sentence, and you need to raise the "building/sanctuary" from them...

Now how would Ibrahim know where to build it, there is always wahy and inspiration from Allah... It should be Bakkah, and the obvious candidate is the first Man Adam, then Nooh... etc

Now where is Bakkah... maybe in Yemen? Allah knows, but forensic work in archeology is the answer...

I do not think anymore that Bakkah is in Palestine (a Roman name)...

I believe the time has come to put this issue to rest once and for all.

Abraham did not BUILD anything. There is no structure of any kind mentioned in the Quran, having to do with al-Bayt. The word "qawa3id" does NOT mean "foundations" in that context. and Abraham didn't "raise" anything.

What do you think about that?

This false idea must be cleared from our heads if we are to understand what is going on.

                                      The FM translation says

{And as Abraham raised from the Sanctuary its foundations, along with Ishmael "Our Lord accept this from us, You are the Hearer, the Knowledgeable."}...

The Arabic text says "Yarfa3u' l qawa3id min al bayti".

The word "yarfa3u" here means he REMOVED or LIFTED something FROM al bayt. There were certain things that were "qawa3id" (stagnating or fixed for a long time), and Abraham removed them.

This is similar to Allah telling Muhamad

{Did We not comfort your chest * And take from you your load * Which had put strain on your back?}...

Note the expression "take from you your load". It means Allah REMOVED the load that was straining Muhamad's back. The Arabic text says "narfa3u 3anka" (We "lifted it" or "removed it&quot.

                                      Abraham REMOVED something.

Now, I believe the word "qawa3id" can also mean "something which has been sitting, or stagnating, or fixed in its place for a long time".

So what is the verse talking about?

The answer to this puzzle is found elsewhere in the Quran. Pay attention to this

{....And We entrusted to Abraham and Ishmael "You shall purify My Sanctuary for those who visit, and those who are devoted, and the kneeling, the prostrating."}...

They PURIFIED the sanctuary. They did not build anything. The Sanctuary was already there.

It was Allah who had shown Abraham the location of this Santuary (Bayt), and then commanded him to "clean it"

{And We showed Abraham the location of the House "Do not set up anyone with Me, and purify My House for those who visit, and those who are standing, and the kneeling, the prostrating}...

Allah led him to it (helped him find its location).

The Sanctuary of Allah is a natural place. It is not a structure of any kind. The CUBE that we see today in Mecca, which has been destroyed several times, was not built by Abraham. It is a PAGAN stucture that has nothing to do with Islam whatsoever.

So what did Abraham do? He CLEANED the place. He lifted / removed ("yarfa3u&quot the UNCLEAN things which were stiing there / had stagnated there ("qawa3id&quot.

Abraham removed idols which had been put in the Santuary. He didn't BUILD anything. The Santuary was there since the time of Adam.

So if it is not a structure, then what is it?

Again, the answer is found in the Quran

{Our Rabb, I have resided part of my progeny in an uncultivated valley, at your Restricted Sanctuary}...

The Arabic text says "3inda baytika al-Muharram" the word "3inda" means AT, not "NEAR" as the FM translation says.

Conclusion The Bayt (Sanctuary) is a secluded VALE somewhere up in the Heights of Asir. Abraham cleaned it by removing the idols which had been placed in it. ("yarfa3u 'l qawa3id min al Bayti ). This vale had been sacred to the inhabitants of this region since the dawn of time.

And it is the SAME valley where Allah spoke to Moses, and told him to remove his slippers.

Also, I must add that the Sanctuary is not meant to be in the middle of a city ir an urban center. What the Saudis have done today is a farce, and an in insult against Allah and his Deen.

Also, I wil add that there is no such place in Jerusalem.
                                      __

                                      Peace...

                                        Peace, Pazuzu

                                        Great article.

Then you slip and again reduce Al-Masjid Al-Haram to a physical place alone. It is not a physically fixed point alone.

Think about the symbolic interpretation of Al-Masjid Al-Haram too.

Somewhere with the clear and with the wisdom of the symbols is the real Al-Masjid Al-Haram.

                                        Peace

                                          Dear IAMOP

You are mixing between the Masjid Haram abd Bayt al- Haram. They are not the same thing.
