Shokran Zenje, Thank you for the link to that previous forum, however I still have not see any clarification by statements in the Quran. I beleive that it is the true intention of your heart and soul and beleif and faith in god that is judged, and I feel there is no reason not to come together with family on those days, when you are not performing rituals such as things that are against islam (Submission of God) . Let me know if you ever find any quranic verses to state anything near this topic! Peace, Honor

Salam Samia, I have been following your interesting discussion on this thread and on another, and I noticed that you are still arguing about the verse 3639 mainly the verb . I think that this verb here means "became" . If you read the verses where or are used meaning "to return; restart" youwill notice that there is no ambiguity as to show where the beginning was. Thank you for your excellent observation. I agree that the word "3ad" does mean "became" when no beginning is given. Peace, Ayman

Peace bro "AB" and all, Yes these are marvellous points brought up here and ive thought about the verse you brought up too. Maybe Prophet Muhammad was literate before the rev of Quran but didnt have pratice with a book/scripture neither did he write one before OR better yet he never actually wrote a book or story like most of the poets were doing at that time but he did have the ordinary understanding of the letters and could read and write. This would explain it, i guess. GOD Bless!

Peace "JM" and all, See this is the problem. All Sir Syed Ahmed did is take up another extreme. Forceful rationilization maybe the term here. This can be done with any book including the Bible. This way well surely never know which one has the truth. In his case he even didnt discard(perhaps he was too afraid?) all the hadith but kept those which confirmed the Quran. This IMHO is either another act of hypocrisy or fear which i can somwhat understand if you know the Hislamic mentality. But i believe if you wanna standup you have to standup in full and not just half way. RK took exactly the middle way. Neither did he accept the Quran to be phenomenal without proof, nor did he use forceful rationalization of events stated in it once the scripture had been proven. Btw miracles dont have to be irrational if you take "miracle" in the sense i explalined at http//www.free-minds.org/forum/index.php?topic=4700.0 GOD Bless!

Peace sister "samia", I was thinking of this verse when I wrote that mursaleen are not rusul 2735 in the sense that "rusul" are those sent with a message from Allah humans; angels (we agree on that) or the message itself; hence is the above example. But "generally " speaking, you are right; they are the same JK- I get your confusion now. You think since GOD never used "rusul" for any other than His own messengers in the Quran and "Mursaloon" has been used for other messengers of other humans thts the difference. But this is not an issue at all. Since the word "Ar-rasool" ,muarifa, itself has once been used for a messenger other than that of GOD's i.e. the messenger of Pharaoh The king said, "Bring him to me." When the messenger came to him(Joseph), he(Joseph) said, "Go back to your lord(the king) and ask him to investigate the women who cut their hands. My Lord is fully aware of their schemes." So this usage can ahppen and it can happen with mursaleen/mursaloon too. Doesnt make a difference in the meaning as youve ascknoledged also and more importantly doesnt change the facts which ive already stated to prove my point. GOD Bless!

Peace, Throughout scriptures, the number forty stands for 'special'. In the bible we can see it with forty nights and days being used every where, with John going in the desert for 40 days, Jesus secluding for 40 days and so on. As for the 40 in the Quran, i also believe it has special meaning, but it is interresting that our physiology changes after the age of 40. The most intruiging factor is the age of 40 being called mature. Here is a professor on the psychological and physiologicall age of the human being "Overall quantity of stored knowledge in the mind of an individual reaches a peak at age thirty-nine and after that it gradually declines" (A.C.Guyton, Physiology of the Human Body, 6th Ed, page 207) So the quantity of your knowledge stagnates after 40. So to keep your Nafs evolving into a higher level, only the truth can help you, which is believing in God and the next stage in the next universe. If they don't believe this, their knowledge will keep declining and more logic will be lost(see how the last verse ends of 4618...)

Salaam all iS THIS a convincing article? http//www.gulf-times.com/site/topics/article.asp?cu_no=2&item_no=84995&version=1&template_id=47&parent_id=27 Yes; even in in the "hadeeth" you can't find that supermarket meat is haram. However, there are two points I would like to mention The writer put as sub-title Strangled and suffocated animals. The qur'aan did not speak about strangled animals at all. Allah knows what a strangled animal is in Arabic. He only mentioned suffocated animals. 6121 the word "meat" is inserted between barckets, showing that it is an addition. Sometimes you may do that, on condition that this is the only word that would clarify a pronoun or an absent word. This is not the case here. The verse says (Eat not what Allah's name was not mentioned on). It is not necessarily meat. You should mention Allah's name when you are to eat anything, be it vegetables, fruit, sweets, meat..And has nothing to do with slaughtering but eating.

Peace sister "samia", How is there no alcohol in the vinegar afterwards? Answer It is when alcohol in wine decays that vinegar is formed. Explanation Certain bacteria in presence of Oxygen transforms alcohol into vinegar , through fermentation, by chaging the position of its molecules, and thus changing its characteristcs. So, we no more have alcohol but acetic acid (vinegar).. JK- Yep thts it. I cldnt have explained it any better. Thankyou. GOD Bless!

Salaam all, those of you against miracles, explain to me these verses We supported Moses with nine profound miracles - ask the Children of Israel. When he went to them, Pharaoh said to him, "I think that you, Moses, are bewitched." He said, "You know full well that no one can manifest these except, obviously, the Lord of the heavens and the earth. I think that you, Pharaoh, are doomed." Recall that Moses sought water for his people. We said, "Strike the rock with your staff." Whereupon, twelve springs gushed out therefrom. The members of each tribe knew their own water. Eat and drink from GOD's provisions, and do not roam the earth corruptingly. Don't confuse the law of this planet with the law of the Almighty The Initiator of the heavens and the earth to have anything done, He simply says to it, "Be," and it is. Are you challenging God's omnipotence by limiting him to the laws of YOUR planet? I am sorry if I miss it but has somebody addressed the above questions from Imran K? I have read from page 2 http//www.free-minds.org/forum/index.php?topic=6198.msg96558#msg96558 until the last page but have not seen somebody addressed the questions directly.

Peace, God never asked us to inflict pain and misery on ourselves and our children.Circumcision has no quranic basis and hence has nothing to do with islam. If an individual out of personal preference feels circumcision is necessary for him based on his opinion,he is free to do so as quran has no prohibition either. However,we should never link islam with circumcision as that would be utter rubbish.Peace.

Hello all The verses posted are related to a very well known incident regarding the Kaaba, , it was a place for all to come to worship the God and also for trading, even the Kafiroon used to go there and do whatever, mostly going around the kaaba as Salat, the Kafiroon also used to do a very indecent act, they used to do the Tawaf (going around the Kaaba) NAKED, exactly like the filthy scenes we see in the Mardi Gras and this is when these verses in Sura 9 was revealed (this is the last sura that was revealed which means was at the last days of Mohammad, you will also notice that it does not have the Bismillah (in the name of Allah??.)?, some say that it does not have the Bismillah because it is full of threats to those Kafiroon and their filthy act around the Kaaba, but somehow I can?t buy this, anyway the objective and the message is clear and was to reclaim the Kaaba ?the house of Allah?, looking at all the verses that I brought in here we will see the picture crystal clear, I will list the verses in English then the original language in Arabic, and my walkthrough will follow 1- (This is a declaration of) immunity by Allah and His Messenger towards those of the idolaters with whom you made an agreement. 2- So go about in the land for four months and know that you cannot weaken Allah and that Allah will bring disgrace to the unbelievers. 3- And an announcement from Allah and His Messenger to the people on the day of the greater pilgrimage that Allah and His Messenger are free from liability to the idolaters; therefore if you repent, it will be better for you, and if you turn back, then know that you will not weaken Allah; and announce painful punishment to those who disbelieve. 4- Except those of the idolaters with whom you made an agreement, then they have not failed you in anything and have not backed up any one against you, so fulfill their agreement to the end of their term; surely Allah loves those who are careful (of their duty). 5- So when the sacred months have passed away, then slay the idolaters wherever you find them, and take them captives and besiege them and lie in wait for them in every ambush, then if they repent and keep up prayer and pay the poor-rate, leave their way free to them; surely Allah is Forgiving, Merciful. 6- And if anyone of the idolaters seeketh thy protection (O Muhammad), then protect him so that he may hear the Word of Allah, and afterward convey him to his place of safety. That is because they are a folk who know not. 7- How can there be an agreement for the idolaters with Allah and with His Messenger; except those with whom you made an agreement at the Sacred Mosque? So as long as they are true to you, be true to them; surely Allah loves those who are careful (of their duty). (1) (2) (3) (4) (5) (6) (7) -> Verse 1, when the incident happened Allah wanted Mohammad to make an agreement with those crazy kafiroon, by telling them that they should stop their mardi gras non sense and act properly around the Kaaba and they will have immunity (This is a declaration of) immunity by Allah and His Messenger towards those of the idolaters with whom you made an agreement. , the fact about the kaaba mardi gras is known from the history records -> Verse 2, - There is 4 scared months in the lunar year, humans used to come to the Kaaba in these 4 months, one month of these 4 is the one when the great hajj is performed, it is like, in the other 3 months they used to do a minor version of hajj, during this time also the Muslims are not allowed to fight the enemy ?UNLESS IT IS A MUST?, the verse is just mentioning these moths and also issued a warning to the Kafiroon regarding those 4 sacred months, ?So go about in the land for four months and know that you cannot weaken Allah and that Allah will bring disgrace to the unbelievers., -> Verse 3, this is where I believe the warning was given to the Kafiroon not to do Tawaf naked around the Kaaba on the day of the Great hajj ? And an announcement from Allah and His Messenger to the people on the day of the greater pilgrimage that Allah and His Messenger are free from liability to the idolaters;, we can see straight after the warning that repenting from this evil act was on the offer for them, ?therefore if you repent, it will be better for you?, but of they insist of this evil act ? and if you turn back, then know that you will not weaken Allah; and announce painful punishment to those who disbelieve. ? similar warning to the one in 92 -> Verse 4, here is things will become a bit clearer, sure some Kafiroon are intelligent enough to understand what they were doing is crazy, especially after the great warning was given accompanied with an offer to repent,- ?Except those of the idolaters with whom you made an agreement, then they have not failed you in anything and have not backed up any one against you, so fulfill their agreement to the end of their term; surely Allah loves those who are careful (of their duty). , see how clear it is, you have to also know that the words ? fulfill their agreement to the end of their term? means that no Muslim should fight during these 4 months, but if they want to fight us to take the Kaaba ?for example to do the naked Tawaf? then the agreement is to wait after the end of these 4 months and then bring it on Kafiroon -> Verse 5, and if the 4 sacred months finished and the kafiroon want to bring it on and fight and kill us then we should fight and kill them ?So when the sacred months have passed away, then slay the idolaters wherever you find them, and take them captives and besiege them and lie in wait for them in every ambush,?, then if they repent and stop fighting us, ?then if they repent and keep up prayer and pay the poor-rate, leave their way free to them; surely Allah is Forgiving, Merciful. , you have to know that salat and zakat mentioned in here does not really mean the Islamic salat and the Islamic zakat, in fact these practises were known to Noah and Abraham people, that is why the kafiroon were coming to the Kaaba anyway, to make salat to their Idols and pay zakat (sort of tax) that will be used to help the poor, therefore the enemy of Islam took it as they must be Muslims otherwise they should be killed, THIS IS 100% WRONG, because the Quran word for anyone to be a Muslim is ?Aslam? or ?Aslamo?, so the above warning is only for the kafiroon to comply with the new laws set by Allah after the reclaim of the Kaaba and the establishment of the strong Islam nation at the end of the prophet days. -> Verse 6, will confirm what I said about verse 5, you will see that Allah is still referring to them as idolaters but is telling the believers that they MUST PROTECT THEM if they seek protection BUT THEY MUST HAVE COMPLIED WITH THE AGREEMENT ABOVE IN VERSE 5, ?And if anyone of the idolaters seeketh thy protection (O Muhammad), then protect him?, the main reason to protect that peaceful Kafir is simply he/she may listen to the last message of our God? so that he may hear the Word of Allah,?, Mohammad must also convey him/her to his place of safety and afterward convey him to his place of safety. simply Allah want us to help these peaceful kafiroon because they lack the knowledge of Allah That is because they are a folk who know not.? -> Verse 7, We see Allah is summing it up beautifully How can there be an agreement for the idolaters with Allah and with His Messenger; except those with whom you made an agreement at the Sacred Mosque? So as long as they are true to you, be true to them; surely Allah loves those who are careful (of their duty)., WHAT ELSE I CAN SAY BRO?, ? So as long as they are true to you, be true to them; surely Allah loves those who are careful (of their duty)? Cheers

Peace Bro Enquirer You were right on point! You said this so its how WE deal with these events that matters, not just the events ..... Before you said this And he doesnt seem to know best either,as he aint exactly curing the worlds problems,or offering us solutions to the worlds problems from his scriptures..... Perhaps the point is not that He doesn't know what's best, but rather testing us thru calamities... to see how well we will apply God's Laws on ourselves, our environment, and others in order to cope with the imperfections of this world You said i will try to take responsibility for my own life, and solve my problems by myself..... While I do agree with Sis Sugar, that none can relieve our problems except He, I believe this only happens when we act according to God's Way. So, I would agree with you that we do have to make a conscious effort to make life more harmonious with others and the environment using a proactive stance. Peace All
