People give technology to much credit. Even today, only an ultrasound in the seventh week can determine pregnency for sure. And besides it is God who gives life, so what maybe dead in the eyes of modern technology may well become alive. peace.

SaLaM Its not only the men's family that demand dowry. Sometimes women's family also 'demands' the mehr.

Well, if the widow is living with her husband's brother or her husband's relatives, marriage between the widow and the relative may not be forbidden by the quran. For example, if a widow is living with her husband's brother, she may still marry him.

Salaams Myr, Elke, All I am very sorry for your Mother-in-Law, Elke. Thank God you got out of there alive, Myr! Before, I wasn't paying attention because I never was mistreated but then I started to notice those 'unleashed' guards and some of the visitors too! I never went to Hajj, but several times to 3omrah where the place would be relatively less harmful!! But in Hajj it would be like a battlefield! Shia groups from Iran and Lebanon and other countries would form circles of men with their women inside those circles and they would move around AlKaaba. Those men would mercilessly elbow anyone in their way! The women inside those circles told me that they felt very comfortable because nobody could bother them!!! They were totally unaware of the price= Possibly Human lives x And they would go as many times as they can!!! Because to them Hajj is very easy!!! Oh God!

Salaam Khadija1, Mahr has to be something materialistic, i.e. money, gold, or anything that you can get money for if you decide to sell. Prophet Moses? work for his future father-in-law. It cannot be something intellectual. Because in case of divorce a man is not allowed to take back what he's given to his ex. If it were an education, then how ccould one take, or not take, education back? Taj So you would say the mehr is a kind of alimony? No, you can consider the mehr as an honor salary or a gift given by the husband to the wife with the marital contract. 6010 O You who have chosen to be graced with belief! When believing women come to you as immigrants, investigate their case, although only Allah is best Aware of their Faith. Once you establish that they are indeed believers, do not return them to the rejecters of the Truth. They are not lawful for the rejecters, nor are the rejecters lawful for them. Give the rejecters what they have spent on them (as dowry). And there is no blame on you if you marry these women, when you have given them their due marital gift. And do not hold on to wedlock with women who continue to deny the Truth. And you may ask them for the dowry you had paid, just as the rejecters have the right to ask the return of what they spent. This is the Judgment of Allah. He judges between you, for Allah is all-Knowing, all-Wise.

. Prohibited for you (in marriage) are your mothers, your daughters, your sisters, the sisters of your fathers, the sisters of your mothers, the daughters of your brother, the daughters of your sister, your nursing mothers, the girls who nursed from the same woman as you, the mothers of your wives, the daughters of your wives with whom you .have consummated the marriage - if the marriage has not .been consummated, you may marry the daughter. Also prohibited for you are the women who were married to your genetic sons. Also, you shall not be married to two sisters at the same time - but do not break up existing marriages. GOD is Forgiver, Most Merciful. Can two cousins get married? I think if it's not prohibited in verse 423 - 25 they can, because everything is mentioned except for that. You are correct; the God has made lawful for us in marriage daughters/sons of our paternal uncles and aunts 3350 O Prophet! Behold, We have made lawful to you your wives to whom you have given the marital gift, and those women who have sought asylum with you and signed the marital contract (610). Also lawful for you in marriage were daughters of your paternal uncles and aunts, and the daughters of your maternal uncles and aunts who had migrated with you. And lawful for you is a believing woman who offers herself freely to the Prophet and whom the Prophet might be willing to wed. This latter is but a privilege for you, and not for other believers. We have already made known what We have decreed regarding their wives and women who have sought asylum in their homes. This arrangement is designed to ease any social difficulties on you (O Prophet, as the Head of the State). Allah is Absolver of imperfections, Merciful.

Peace Natu, Yes, you're right. A simple definition of idol worship is to believe that anything beside God can help us, or to hold something as more important to us than God. Thus if we hold our property (for example) as more important than God /or give our jobs more time and attention than God - we are committing idol worship. Unfortunately, the majority of people who believe in God commit this gross offense without even realizing it. The majority of those who believe in GOD do not do so without committing idol worship. This is why we note that one of the most important and most repeated commandments in the Quran is "O you who believe, you shall remember God frequently; glorify Him day and night." You shall remember your Lord within yourself, publicly, privately, and quietly, day and night; DO NOT BE UNAWARE If we love God the most, we strive to be reverent and remember Him alone frequently. However, since we're not immune from Satan and his desperate urge of claiming us, most of us fall into idol worship in one way or another and seeking or pleasing God alone simply becomes lip service. He said, "Since You have willed that I go astray, I will skulk for them on Your straight path. "I will come to them from before them, and from behind them, and from their right, and from their left, and You will find that most of them are unappreciative." Often times, I find myself "preoccupied" in this worldly life, thus distracted me from remembering God. Before I know it, Satan succeded in duping me, making my evil works pleasing to my eyes. O you who believe, do not be distracted by your money and your children from remembering GOD. Those who do this are the losers. The devil wants to provoke animosity and hatred among you through intoxicants and gambling, and to distract you from remembering GOD, and from observing the Contact Prayers (Salat). Will you then refrain? Yet the Most Gracious, by His infinite mercy inspired me to know my shortcomings and hereby I could immediately ask for forgiviness thereafter before it's too late. Idolworship is not limited in associate our loved ones with some kind of power. It could also be mean if we subconsciously think that they possess power to make us feel good, happy(benefit) or harm us OTHER THAN GOD. Since, God alone possess all power. For example, I have a cute child and a beautiful wife. If I preoccupied my mind and give them too much attention INSTEAD of the all powerful, eternal God, I thus commit Idolworship. O you who believe, your spouses and your children can be your enemies; beware. This Life is a test. The Human being will tested base on our own weakness. Thus, I think idolworship or associating any partners to God implies that God alone IS NOT ENOUGH to remember in our mind. Is GOD not sufficient for His servant? They frighten you with the idols they set up beside Him. Whomever GOD sends astray, nothing can guide him. May God protect us from worshiping idols. Recall that Abraham said, "My Lord, ?. protect me and my children from worshiping idols. Say, "My Contact Prayers (Salat), my worship practices, my life and my death, are all devoted absolutely to GOD alone, the Lord of the universe. He has no partner. This is what I am commanded to believe, and I am the first to submit." Say, "Shall I seek other than GOD as a lord, when He is the Lord of all things? No soul benefits except from its own works, and none bears the burden of another. Ultimately, you return to your Lord, then He informs you regarding all your disputes." God bless!

Peace. I do not myself know of any laws as such, but I presume re-marriage would legally not be allowed without divorce. Don't know to be sure. Peace. Natu on the line.

Peace be upon you, The first error is in the LABELING of a person as being "MUSLIM". That word is NOT a title, only a description. You can have ANY title, "Hindu", "Jew", "Christian" or whatever, and still be described as one who peacefully submits(muslim). Regarding marriage, you should choose a mate, not based on thier "Title" but on thier faith and actions. Do they trust that all of thier causes will lead to effects? Do they , after knowing this, choose to do right so that thier effect will come back positive? Do they see the interconnection between ALL THINGS(Oneness)? if they don't see these things, they are mislead and will call you to the fire, even if they call themselves by the TITLE "MUSLIM". Thanks - this was really helpful

Salaam Ammarb87, can muslims marry christains, jews and hindus ? Let me ask you, Ammar, why would a Hindu man, for example, want to marry a Muslim woman? I imagine that to marry someone would be the end of the journey, not the beginning. The beginning would be to be introduced to that person and during that introduction something would click between the two. At that point, the person can either follow that click or end it, depending on his/her beliefs, whether his/her faith would allow a marriage, and not later than that point. Meaning that whatever differences between the man and the woman, those differences would surely dissolve once the two reach the point of deciding to get married, no? Can a Muslim woman love a Hindu man (for example)? If marriage to a Hindu is not permitted, then that woman shouldn't fall for any attraction to that person in the first place! Do you get my point? Should Muslims mix with others, who are different in their set of beliefs, in a way that may lead to a marriage that is unwelcome from the traditionalist parents, even though the couple would have already reached a middle ground by that time? Peace Since both are following things outside of the Qur'an? Plus some Christians literally believe in one God and not the holy trinity.

"Here abouts I sit again, Wonderin? how I survived the game, I wonder if you think of me? Do I elicit emotion in thee? My marriage to you, with years gone by, Left alone with only the dye, No longer does youth find me free, To God I submit, and duty be, Permit me to love and laugh in grace, Before my body is laid in lace, Here abouts I sit again, Did you ever love me while playin' the game?" sj sun
