Salaam all, Thanks for the replies... To tell you the truth, I don't have an answer even now. D I agree that GOD is the "sum" of everthing around us. That's why I agree with the Buddha's saying that nothing is permanent. Relating this with GOD, I take it as that the only "real" reality is GOD. Thus, I agree with bro Nademm that the notion of "two everythings" will sound absurd. Coupled with bro Kyle's statement that GOD encompasses all things, the notion will sound even more absurd. I personally believe that GOD cannot be created, otherwise Surah 112 is nothng but lies. That is why He is called The Creator the first time. Anything that can be created cannot be itself The Creator, however similar. ? But bro Sawtooth said something funny but interesting for me nonetheless. Personally, the created (no matter how "big") will submit to the law of the creator. Thus, the rock can be lifted still. With all that said, it is based on my experience that GOD is not something that can be defined or explained. This kind of question stems from wanting to conceptualize GOD to fit mere human intelligence. We know that Modern Physics revealed to us that what we see as reality, might not be real after all. And that is just GOD's creation. If we are struggling to comprehend the creation, I don't think we will find even a minute success in comprehending The Creator. We can try to "experience" or "feel" Him, yes. I believe so because everthing in this universe is "connected" to Him. ) But if GOD created another HIM in every respect, probably the whole reality will collapse. Wasalaam, =adley=

Peace to all New Years is still observed as the Feast of Christ's Circumcision by some denominations http//wilstar.com/holidays/newyear.htm I was 5 years old when my Christian friend Heroes ( Armenian )was 6 years old. We were living in middle of high hills in skirt of Zagross mountains in west of Iran on border with Iraq. Our toys were colourful stones and our play was climbing hills and dig out cracked soil which mushrooms were hide. One day Heroes asked me if I am circumcised. I did not know what he means and asked what? He said that my mother said to him that Moslem circumcise their sons. I did not know anything and ask more . He pointed to my ?.and said show it to me and I tell you if you are Moslem or not. I showed to him and he sai no your not circumcised and your are not yet a Moslem. Then he said to me he knows how to do it . I agreed he circumcises me and change me to Moslem. He asked me to sit and then pull my short. He put a stone and lay my ? on it and beat it with another stone in his hand. cry cry Bleeding and lot of pain and so. That was my first lesson from Shia which call themselves Moslem falsely like their original cult source Sunnis. Majority of us follow our parent tradition with a new brand name God Alone Quran Alone. Taking off of one tradition and falling in trap in other tradition is not new. Changing belief needs complete disconnection from parent false doing other way we are another generation of modern Hadithist .under cover of God Alone Quran Alone. Happy Solstice Peace Bahman

Hi Ali Omar, My apologies! The initial question concerned ?saying? vs. ?doing?. What are your takings on that? I think most of us here 'say' what we believe in. And what we believe in, is what we do as well, to the extent each of us can and wish. Peace!

Oh gosh, you like Goldziher? Were you paid by the Zionists or what? I think they'd reject me as I've also read Roger Garaudy and Norman G. Finklestein! I generally agree with Goldziher here. But still I see at least as much worth in history as in every other social science. I would not say that it does not tell us anything. It tells us really a lot. And like every other kind of wisdom this wisdom may also be used to work for the d?n As an applicational wisdom, it can act as a stimulus, in my view. The problem is when people start to treat this wisdom as decisive wisdom for the d?n. There is only one wisdom decisive for the d?n. As I like t say, the furq?n does not necessarily disqualify wisdom but it always qualifies it. Right, in al-quraan, this is known as 'al-hukm' which I take to mean God's permenant laws. There's no escaping these laws as they are part of our existence in the universe. However, there are things which have been given freedom such as 'wajh, manhaj and sharia' (see 5/4 and this is where individual expression comes in. Actually, yes, I should. It?s always better to talk to a person than to talk about a person. I should get my three letters up and approach him. Until now the problem for me just simply was that I have seen people telling Dr. Shabbir about a lot of similar problematics in his work and I?ve also seen how he responds ..... . That's why i've stopped corresponding. I wrote in his forum (before the pre-posting moderation came into effect) that al-quraan opposes his view that the Prophet had only one wife at a time. The posting was removed and if im not mistaken, the assertion went into 'the most revolutionary book on islam'. So good luck to you! I think this goes back to Iqb?l who coined the idea of a bad ajami isl?m opposing a true muhammadi isl?m, something like that. I don?t get Iqb?l here. I admire a large part of his work but he?s so contradictory sometimes. Certainly right about Iqbal. He was like a composite of different personalities if we go by his writings.

Salaam Anwar, But surprisingly, I did spend a week in Bali in March 2003. But then, no body asked me about what I believed in. Bali is, first and foremost, a Hindu island brother. D And a very very materialistic at that; because it is also a tourists' spot which involves night life (a.k.a. sex or prostitutions, drugs, alcohols, etc.) So, I think anyone will be okay there. Most of the times at least, considering the stupid bombers in action. Btw, I love your daughter's name. It's cute D Wasalaam, =adley=

Peace, After a long time... Those who consume riba, they do not rise except as the one who is being beaten by the rebellious out of direct touch. That is because they have said ?Trade is like riba.? While The God has made trade lawful, and He has forbidden riba. Whoever has received understanding from His Lord and ceases, then he will be protecting for what was before this and his case will be with The God. But whoever returns, then they are the people of the Fire, in it they will abide eternally. (2275) It is very interesting to note that "Whoever has received understanding from His Lord and ceases, then he will be protecting for what was before this and his case will be with The God...". Frankly speaking, to this day, I still haven't received the understanding. Something wrong with me? Anwar Azim

Salam truth, The "Quran" is not protected. The reminder (zhikr) is protected 159. I believe that this actually means the reminder is MAINTAINED. That the God ensures that the message is always available to people and this may be in more forms than just the reading. The text may become corrupted, but the essential message of monotheism and the last day is maintained. Regards. JK- Emmmm, excuse me truth. Dont you believe in code-19 any more and that RK WAS a messenger of GOD? Also dont you believe in a Book revealed by GOD to an Arabian Prophet named Muhammad with 114 suras and 6346 verses? GOD Bless!

Salam NoProgressive, I agree with you. I too fell love for GOD's messengers including His angels and His prophets. I also feel love for the rest of GOD's Creation except Satan and those who follow him. Ofcourse we can fell love for them. Nothing wrong with that and i dont know how some/more people on FM can ever make such a claim. It sounds absolutely stupid to me. And your right we should love GOD the most because all other love we experience is temporary and part of the illusion CRETAED BY GOD. GOD created the feeling love within our bodies. Without the specific DNA code we couldnt even feel love. Thus how can it be wrong to expereince something GOD created and love is a +ve thing? Makes no sense. We can also mention Mary/Jesus/etc in the scripture while delivering a sermon. Nothing wrong with that. Why does GOD mention those names anyways? I suppose the only logical answer is to awaken our emotions, to experience love and ofcourse love GOD the most. GOD Bless!

Salam Peacefulmuslim, I, then wanted to know what is that we were reciting in Salat? And wondered, whats the point if we dont understand what we are reciting? Thats when I dug up the meaning for all the verses and words used in traditional salat. Now, I dont say Darood shareef in Salat, coz I dont see any sense. I stick to only Quran recitation in salat. And as for duas, I prefer it in my language, rather than a language I dont understand. Peace! JK- Thats good. Thats how it should be done but also only those Quranic verses should be recited, if any after fatiha, which conatin no reference to anyone else besides GOD because salat must be didcated to GOD Alone so accounts on Mary, etc from the Quran may not be recited. As for the duas its perfectly fine to do them in any language you wish. Btw i wanted to know wheres the "praying nakes" article gone? I wanted to post something there. Lemme say it here. We may say duas(prayers in general) naked but we cannot do salat naked. This is because GOD says O children of Adam, you shall be clean and DRESS nicely when you go to the masjid. And eat and drink moderately. Surely, He does not love the gluttons. "masjid" literally means "place of protration" and in general refers to any place where you perform salat at. Hence we must be dressed while performing salat. This is because salat is not merely any prayer. It is a specific conact btw you and GOD thus it requires a ceratin discipline which includes being dressed nicely. GOD Bless!

Salam Truth, This is magical thinking with conjecture, and just plainly false. 1640 To have anything done, we simply say to it, "Be," and it becomes. Innama qawluna lishay-in itha aradnahu an naqoola lahu kun fayakoonu To have anything done the same command applies. There is no supernatural things and no miracles. The laws are set in place by the God and things obey those laws. Regards. JK- BUT THERE IS and the above verse clearly shows that. It means that GOD does not need to wait for the laws of physics to come into action but that if He wants something to hapen He says 'Be' and it becomes with no need of any physical laws as we know them. This is how i understood this verse as a child and anyone will understand it that way because its the simplest understanding of that verse. Your complicating the meaning of a verse by forcing your own interpretations on it. This verse is the exact reply to those like you who claim that everything happens naturally and GOD doesnt intervene. It were these people who refuted that Mary could have a son without a man touching her and thus accusing her of adultery even in the past. GOD is refuting such in the above verse, get it? GOD Bless!

Hi No progressive, I would like ot know, are you afraid that as while Muslim may move to the West, they will eventually convert to a different religion? Like Christianity. I think we need to become Evangelical Muslms... have that same southern appeal, with all of the laser shows! lol. What exactly do u mean by muslims? What conversion are u talking about? To the traditional islam of today to become either a sunni or shia? Well, in that case u will need more than laser shows to compensate for the gloomy life they create Which of the following do u think non believers will find appealing? Women should be covered in black Hijab from hair to toe, including face in order that they escape from hell fire. -Men should grow long beards to earn merit points to reach heaven -U should not celebrate any days except the 2 eids. No birthdays & no nothing. Dare u be happy and wanna celebrate any other day. U will burn in hell eternally. Music and all forms of art are haram and u will burn in hell. -Television is haram. most of the food u get in stores is haram Women should take their husband's permission/command before doing anything, otherwise they will burn in hell I bet there are many more do's and donts. And if u r not talking of the 'traditional muslims count' and are talking of 'muslims', as in true believers of Allah and Quran, then all it requires is awakening. Once awake, no one can change ur faith to anything else, no matter how hard they try. So, in that sense the traditional muslims need to wake up first, before they can convince others how good Islam is. Peace!
